I have to say the morning results were pleasing, and over time, I saw notable changes begin to take place. I then applied Michael Todd Knu Anti-Aging Face Lift Cream (which I hope will be rapidly back in stock and still on sale, ahem) before going to bed. On the nights that I used my LED, I would wait for the product to absorb first, and I must say, I really liked the results of that combination. I don’t have any issues on my chest or hands, so I didn’t apply there, but instructions say to use on these areas as well. In some of the reviews, I noticed that some were mildly put off by the scent of the product, but I found nothing adverse about it. I massaged a thin layer over my face and areas of my neck.

I found a rather scathing review on Paula’s Choice website which noted that the formula contains an effective amount of glycolic acid formulated at a pH to ensure it works as an exfoliant, but the alcohol issue along with the fragrance ingredients it contains makes it not worth the risk when there are other viable options with equally effective ingredients without the problematic irritants.įor the first two weeks, I applied this product to my skin each night after removing makeup, cleansing my face and toning. Additionally, it states on the label that if no improvement is seen after 3 months of treatment to discontinue use. It also states that sun exposure should be limited – not a problem for me, as I love the sun, but from a shaded vantage point. It comes with a warning on the label to avoid direct contact with eyes and notes that some users may experience a mild skin irritation. It is designed to lighten dark spots in the skin, such as freckles, age and liver spots or pigmented skin that has occurred during pregnancy or from the use of oral contraceptives. The serum comes in a 1 fluid oz container and has 2% Hydroquinone in it.
However, what works for some does not necessarily work for all. When I got the opportunity to try Murad Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lighting Serum ($60), a product that deals with hyperpigmentation issues, I researched it a bit first and overall saw some really positive reviews from purchasers. I’m a young 60, and I’m a warrior queen in the arena, fighting that good fight to stave off the legion of fine line wrinkles, the callous invasion of age spots and the amorphous attacks of sagging.
Being African American, I tend to incur hyperpigmentation issues from time to time, and they are a major nuisance and a huge distraction when they show up on the face.
